January 27, 2009 General Union Meeting
At the first Union meeting of the Spring 2009 semester SFT President Tim Haresign presented the following items for discussion:
* President’s report
* The Union is currently migrating the server to an off-campus site
* Budget update
* Recent local agreements were distributed to the membership
a.) Summer Intensive Research Courses (SIRE Courses)
b.) Modifications to the IDEA agreement
The membership also discussed the Union response to State of NJ’s request to begin discussions on an across the board wage freeze for next year.
Mike Rodriguez distributed COPE cards as well as “Million-Member Mobilization for the Employee Free Choice Act”.
SFT will have another meeting in the near future to update the membership about the budget.
